Hello Kitty ♥

Hello everyone, Happy Chinese New Year! (Learn more about Chinese New Year here.)

This is a quick post to share the layout I made the day before Chinese New Year, and it's for the Life.Paper.Scrapbook January Mood Board Challenge. This is my first mood board challenge, and I reread the rules a few times to make sure I did it the right way, but since the post stated that the mood board is open to interpretation, I guess there really isn't any right or wrong way of doing it. Click here for the mood board.

The spring color palette and flowers and birds remind me of my beautiful niece and I decided to jump queue (I usually picked a few photos for 3 to 4 layouts to be scrapbooked in that month) and scrapbook a page about her instead. The layout is about her current obsession with Hello Kitty, hence the title, Hello Kitty Love.

The letter stickers for the word 'Hello Kitty' is by my local bookstore. They are expanding their market into scrapbooking supplies, and even though there are much improvements on their quality, who can say no when their price is half of that of the branded thickers?

Excuse the out of focus photo, I'm still trying to improve my photography

I wanted to use this orange cardstock as my background, but I dislike the tone of the orange, so I used vellum on top of that, and instead of using tape or glue to secure that vellum, I used brads on four corners. Folded the top right corner of the vellum to add some interest on top.

Voila!
