Hello September!

Wow, time flies! What happened to August? Oh well, I guess when you have so much on your plate you can't really keep track of everything (at least for me). Another long weekend, one of the perks of living in this country, too many public holiday. Not that I'm complaining. Though my boss has grunted a little about 'too many holiday, too little time for work', yeah, he did say that. Okay, enough rambling, let's get started on photo spamming!

Today, I'm going to upload my monthly resolution review mini layout. They're all 6x6 and I use them to keep track of how good I'm doing with my RR, which is terribly bad. Seems like my 'Done' list is always the shortest. Sigh, me and procrastination, love-hate relationship. ~.~

I posted my first layout for 2013 RR in January, back then I planned to review it once every fortnight, but then I realized it's quite tedious. So I revised it to once every month, which seems more reasonable. So, starting from where I left off, month of February:
I did the RR in my mini album for February

Dull looking March 2013 RR

Managed to get more things done in April

May is not bad too~

I used up my tiny tiny scraps papers as borders on this one

July 2013 RR

August 2013 RR with my favorite washi tape
All of the background patterned papers are from my stash of 6x6 paper pads, while most of the embellishments and smaller patterned papers are from my leftover scraps from other projects. The RR list took up a lot of space and little embellishing is done on each. It's a simple monthly 6x6 LO but sometimes I dragged it more than 2 months before I started kicking myself for procrastinating. And I was supposed to post another update on my RR LO around July, but I dragged it until now, September.

I still can't believe it's already September. SEPTEMBER!! Oh gosh, I'm going to get panic attack, the last quarter of 2013 is 2 weeks away and why do I feel like I didn't get anything done this year?? Oh God Oh God Oh God

Shimelle's Third Challenge: Mist!

I bought the Heidi Swapp Mustard Color Shine on my last craft haul. It's the first mist that I bought and I ♥ the color and the shiny effect it creates. Misting is a new technique I tried this year and I'm still in the process of experimenting on what I can do with it.

My first attempt was using it on a dark background. I don't think I sprayed it evenly and it created blotches all around.

Anyhow, the overall effect of the yellow on grey background is not bad and I'm happy with it.

I saw Shimelle has a mist challenge on her blog for NSD and I think that's another great excuse to play with my mist. On my second take of mist, I tried misting using a mask by The Crafters Workshop, Mini Life Strips 6x6 Template.

The word 'Awesome' is from the same mask too, but I inked this one with ColorBox Cat's Eye Daffodil Pigment Ink instead of using the mist.

The journaling spot is created using mist and mask.
My journaling spot took me a few attempts to get the look I want and I made 2 mistakes while trying. Firstly, I used my hand to hold down the mask and sprayed the mist. Well, bad idea. My hand was all glittery after that. The second mistake I made was spraying too near the paper. It gets too wet and I threw that away. There are still a lot about misting that I need to learn, especially with the mustard color I bought, I really need to experiment to see how it will look on background of different colors, and other ways of using it too.

Supplies
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye 6x6 Designer Paper Pad, Away We Go
Mist: Heidi Swapp Mustard Color Shine
Mask: The Crafters Workshop 6x6 Template, Mini Life Strips
Ink: ColorBox Cat's Eye Pigment Ink, Daffodil
Alphabet Letter Stickers: October Afternoon Sticky Keys, Honey
Washi Tape: Freckled Fawn, Chalkboard Arrow
Embellishments: Simple Stories Sn@p! Stickers, Icons
Others: Star-shaped Punch & Pop Dots

And that's all for the first layout I made for NSD. Hope you like what I did and any comments is appreciated.

Up next, is the second layout I made for another of Shimelle's challenge too.

Favorite Craft Projects of First Quarter of 2013

I've only completed a few craft projects for the first quarter, but I have a few favorites that I would like to share. I didn't really craft much from beginning of February to almost end of March, but my crafting engine is now up and running so hopefully I'll have more favorites to share by the end of this month. Blogging was not in my monthly to do list but I've included it in my revised version of Resolution Review, so hopefully I will stick with it (4 posts/month!!). =)

A cute layout I made for my Bro & SIL for their New Home
Absolute Favorite!
♥ This Side! (Inspired by This Pin)
Layout about a favorite card I made few years back..
I used pop dots for the butterfly and that row of flowers below
A Birthday Card I made for one of my best buddies, Mr. C
This is a Special 6 x 12 Layout I made to share my crafting process
My messy craft station~

I guess the reason I don't blog that much is because I have no idea what to say. Even this short post took me almost an hour to finish! So now every week I have to set aside an hour for my blog and hopefully I will have more to say in the coming post. =)

Biweekly Resolution Review #1

2/3 of January has passed. I've been trying my best to squeeze in craft time here and there, especially on the weekends. For the past 2 weeks, I've created 4 ATCs and a random collage. I am truly proud of myself *LOL*

★ATCs I made and sent to my swap partner★
★This is a simple design but I LOVE it!★

★Random collage I made using magazine cut outs & stickers★
★Foie Gras, anyone?★
♥And not forgetting Weekly Life Lists♥

As for my Biweekly Resolution Review, I got the inspiration from this pin right here. I like the grid journalling style of that layout and my 6 x 6 layout is made on that basis. It's a bit difficult for me though, because 6 x 6 is such a limited space. Hence, I used minimum words to cut down the space needed. I sketched my idea on blank memo, stating the color scheme I want to use, type of embellishments I will be using. Then from there, I sketched the layout after gathering all the supplies I need. I used my weekdays to plan it and finally have the time to complete this layout on yesterday.

♥I MADE this!♥
Squares & Circles
The playing cards are from Kaiser Crafts

How do you like my layout?

And with less than 2 weeks left, I need to start making my upcoming Bangkok trip mini album. Found a few great videos of making mini album using a 12 x 12 paper on YouTube. AND I still haven't started on the Valentine's present yet. I think I should do Valentine's first. It's going to be REAL busy for the next few weeks!
